Combining a couple emails here. Wow! Thanks Bob. If it weren't for
guys like you that have documented everything with pictures I'd be
lost. I really hope to have this build done for the invasion as I have
the time off work. My biggest hangup right now is the paint shop; they
are so slow. But, supposedly it went in the booth today. I had
originally wanted to do it all myself, but was talked out of it by a
couple friends as it's probably not the best car to learn on...

I guess I should have mentioned this before. I'm running dual DCNF's; I
got them for a great price, but had no idea that the support/knowlege
about them is nowhere near IDF's or DRLA's. The carbs are synced
perfectly, they both bottom out against the stop and reach full throttle
at exactly the same time. I don't have an extra spring for the linkage,
just the springs on the carbs. My thinking is that the carb springs
should be enough if it's set up properly. The linkage is kind of like
the CB hex bar style, only round.

No carpet in yet. They are very smooth by themselves without the cable
attached. I pulled the engine off to do some work on the
rockers/springs, so when I put it back on this weekend I'll check the
ends of the tube. There is shrink wrap on the end of the tube where it
meets the tin, maybe that's rubbing a little. I have it close, it's
just that there's some rubbing or something going on somewhere I need to
track down. I'll update my progress.
