14.7 V, really? Or is that a typo? That's actually a bit high, unless  
you're measuring it at the generator, where it will be higher than at  
the battery or the VR, where it is sensed and regulated.

If the  voltage at the battery gets pushed above 14.4 V, it is 
actually somewhat  hard on the battery.



Yes, it's 14.7 measured at the regulator (@ medium revs). My GM's and  
several other 12 volt cars I have here measure that much as well. I just thought 
 it was normal for a good working 12 volt system to put out that much. The  
generator is stamped 14 volts too...
