That's possible, I saw the photo in Hot VW's issue about a year or 2 ago.

I agree it's nothing like as big as the outlet Keith described, but there's
not much else around there, apart from the possibility of an air-con hose,
and I've never seen that installation either!  I reckoned it was worth
making the suggestions, since ISTR it was from a picture rather than seeing
it in reality.  Could be shadows due to the flash or lighting that made it
look bigger.

Right, item 14 in your parts view, but that's only an inch or so in
diameter.
