I have a lot of parts available, but... you CANT just piece together a
Frankenstein FI system. After you've done all the research and learned
about
all the different systems you find out that the best you can do is choose
a
complete system and convert to that... ie, L jet instead of D or one of the
new programmable systems that's been ripped off an old Geo or something
like
that.
Everything is a matched set and A LOT of design went into it, you can do
some piecing together of things within a given system, like the T4 D jet I
used on the 2056, I used some D and some L stuff but only after others had
done the flow tests etc, but it was mainly a D system. Its A LOT of work
to
get it all really working properly. I did this... what a pain!
With a stock motor, its well worth gathering what you need, recondition it,
and use that.
>From the sound of it, he's going to d like Max did, and use Mega Squirt.
This means, he's just mainly looking for the IAD, the runners, possibly fuel
pressure regulator, fuel pump and injectors, and may the CHT. All the
other parts will come from somewhere else. Max pieced his system together using
ford injectors, and a couple of GM sensors. If I remember right, he's got
over 4,000 miles on it already (since early this summer). He's also got an
altitude issue that he deals with, since he lives in the mountains of
Colorado (near the 2012 T-3 Invasion site), but the system he's using allows for
compensation, so he never notices it (now that he got the baseline reset
;^)). Also, there are several others that are doing this now, since most of
the bugs are worked out of the Mega Squirt. Some versions of it also allow
for crank triggered spark too. :O
By the way, I have an old Geo. It's a 92 Prizm, and basically a Toyota with
a Chevy badge in the grill. :O
