Yup, I've been busy the last couple of days trying to help Gary out with my 
 version of a Type 3 tow bar. I think I've finally got him to figure out 
how it  works. ;-) All he really needs is a good fabricator, some cash (for 
tubing,  "U" bolts, and anything else he needs), and a super beetle tow bar to 
modify.  I've used mine, and I know it works.
I've also got a tow dolly here, and that thing can be a royal PIA at times. 
 I've used it from Idaho to Michigan, and from Iowa to Michigan hauling 
T-3s, and  I'll tell you, flat towing is a lot easier (doesn't add the extra 
foot + on each  side). However, when you have a rusted out front beam (like my 
71 Notch had)  using a tow dolly was worth having. : )
