Gunnie - Where are you located in central CA?
I ask as I am in Nevada City, there is a local VW group in Sacramento associated with the one here in the foothills. They have a separate website/group that is more bug related, but they report the finds at the local PickNPull in Sacramento. There are a couple of T3s there at the moment.

Regardless of what you may find on any local VW group forums, believe what you read on -this- T3 forum about T3's. The info here can be relied upon, whereas elsewhere...

There is a newly created VW show at the Calif Auto Museum in Sacto to celebrate their VW exhibit on Mar 18th. Check the above norcalvdubs website calendar for details.
