Looking at your video, if you're going to replace that rear panel, 
you might want to cut it out partway before you hand it over to the 
body folks. Check with them first, but getting in there now would 
give you access to some volumes you can't see now. Be careful, 
because there are welds in the middle of that panel; you don't want 
to destroy parts that the body folks will need.

That won't do any good. When I backed the car in the light poll in 84 we
repainted the whole outside of the car GM's Corvette orange. The inside of
the car was never repainted so thinking about doing what you are suggesting
with the ash tray.
