[T3] Salt in Seattle?

Colorado uses Sand mostly and Mag chloride (Hard on alloy wheels and fun to get off the windscreen)  in most the metro areas. You will find some salt on the west side of the mountain range.  I just resolve to not drive mine unless I have to in the winter months here.

Given that it only snows here an average of 2 days a year it should be easy to avoid, and I think the city has a grand total of 3 trucks anyway.  I was under the impression that most cities used salt, I'm guessing sand is the norm?
