This is a Semi-Hemi engine, which you need to run massive Advance on to get
it to run right, it was their recommendation. The FI dist im running is
ONLY getting used for the centrifugal advance, the vacuum can is not
connected.

Im wondering if Im better off using the Stock 1500S distributor with the
vacuum only advance, but then... I cant get it high enough for the Semi
Hemi...

Isn't that WAY too high? Should be 32-34 max for the mech adv. The
vac adv can add more, but only at low throttle. If you're using a FI
distributor with the vacuum advance connected to a carb port, it's
quite possible that you're abusing it.

You should never be able to see 40 adv in the driveway, under any
circumstances.

That alone will make it run hot.
