Sounds like Wolfie knew where to quit if he had to! Glad to hear all is
well now.

I took the Crate out today, only been sitting since last October and a
no-start. The right carb wasn't filling and the left didn't get gas out of
the bowl. Took the tops off and blew things out with choke cleaner and it
started, didn't run too bad, made it home anyway (2mi) I REALLY need to
drive it and THIS is the year!

We tried to take Wolfie to the MI Vintage Festival today. Got about an hour
from the house (57 miles) when it just stopped running (like it just shut
off). Called John for help, as he was the only one I knew anywhere close by
(this was after I had tried to get it going again for 45 minutes), and he
pulled us back to his house. After some food and a little unwind time, I
replaced the fuel pump, and still no run, swapped the coil, still no run,
got
out the volt meter, and verified I had power to the coil. Popped the cap
off, and we were looking at the ignition points (checking that they did
open), and found that the plastic piece that holds the moveable part to the

stationary part had slipped out of it's slot. put in back in place,
re-installed the cap, and it fired right up. Apparently that piece had
moved just
enough to ground out the points, not allowing the car to start. :O BS'ed a

little while more, did an in-prompt to photo op, and said our good by's,
and
drove all the way back home without any real issues (need to re-synch the
carbs, and toss a timing light on it again). Not quite a good day (break
down and not making the show), but not a bad T-3 day in the end. : ) Still
have a couple of minor things I need to look at in the next 3 weeks, but
all
in all a good shakedown test drive. : ) So we're getting closer to being
"road ready". ;-)

I'd like to say Thank You to John and Jill for rescuing us on the side of
I-94 (about 7 or 8 miles from their home), giving me a ride to the parts
store, and allowing me to use his floor jack (so I can get my fat a$$ under

the front of the car), but mostly for helping us out when we needed it.
Thank You. : )
