[T3] Striker Plate

I've got a friend who does prototypes for all sorts of things.

My striker Plate is detiorating, as well.  But he's in Wisconsin and
we're at our "winter" location in Texas 'til May, 2013.

Maybe he, (as Jim suggested)

>could refurb these with one of the harder castable polyurethanes.<

Since I don't have my car at hand, how are the black plastic(?) bars
mounted and held in place?  Screws on the underside?

I'll inquire, and post a response.
