[T3] check

There was the remains of a Nankang at the shop when I brought winterat in
for the inspections today, it wasn't pretty.

What WAS pretty was my 87 VW passing inspection with flying colors while a
top of the line Cadillac Eldorado, 13 years its junior, looking brand new on
the lift right next to it failed its final inspection because the rear
suspension was so rusted the diagonal arm had collapsed and folded up.

Gonna be the best looking car in the junkyard!

Anywho... just finished putting the 2056 short block back together, Im quite
happy with it... used my old steel backed main bearings, they only had a few
hundred miles on them but this time I made sure everything was fitting
properly, with THIS align bore the center main was holding the bearing
saddles apart in the case, it needed some very minor and careful sanding
down to make it fit properly. Now I can FINALLY get going on the antique
radio stuff.. and I will need to if I can afford the oil cooler and sump
that I still need for this.

In the spring Ill finish the assembly, I cant lift the long blocks anymore
so that needs to be finished in the garage.  I dollied the last one down the
stairs but the thought of a hole in the wall at the bottom of the stairs and
retrieving my engine from the front yard have me thinking more carefully
this time.

Sigh!  It's a long winter!
