Flex Fuel was a term used to note that a vehicle was able to run E10/E20 or E85 it was not to note a type of fuel.
Been running at least an E10 in my cars for years and have never had any problems. I have 74 standard Bug that beefed a bit and its done fine also.

E10 Introduction to Germany 2011. Pretty much without warning, maybe a month in advance. It was a giant fail. The Germans refused to buy it. #1 question was "can it harm my Engine"? Answer was no. Big controversy...Germans are cautious when it comes to there cars. So its gone. But there was no mention of this flex fuel here that you talk about. I find that odd. Steve.
