[T3] Windshield in

With the American seals, there is one with a 5/8" lip and one with a 7/8"
lip, the shorter one wont fit and will look like yours does. The old
Cal-look seals used to have a longer lip and would fit fine but it looks
like this is no longer the case.

This will leak like a sieve and rust out around the windshield.

Take some black RTV, the high-temp stuff, NOT regular unless you can find a
stash of old high-VOC stuff around because it will turn bright yellow in the
sun. The high temp stuff makes a mess but it wont change color... clean the
groove with alcohol and run a bead in there, then find the person with the
best skills and steady fingers and wipe the bead in, wiping away any excess.
Have plenty of paper towel handy and DON'T do this on a Humid day. They
usually leak around the glass too and a bead there is necessary.

You often have to do this even when the seals seem to fit properly, as they
still leak. You MUST get the windshield sealed or the carpets will get
wet, never dry out and you'll have a flintstones car on your hands, not what
you want after all that restoration work.

Nice you got it in without breaking it though, the Sigla ones fit much
better than the aftermarket ones.

I was afraid of a leak issue after seeing what it looked like after we
installed it. Good to know we can fix it with the black RTV. I'm assuming
like what permatex makes. I'm disappointed in this and a couple more things
we got from ISP. But we got some good stuff too but I can't believe they
sale something this inferior. I guess they expect you to put the RTV to it
like you said. On a good note I'm proud and surprised we were able to
transfer a virgin 41 year old windshield out of that rust bucket into
Clementine without breaking it being our first.
