I'm laughing because I just went through this with my Honda Fit.
185/55-16, only about 4 choices for that oddball size. Car is now
running 205/50-16 Dunlop Dirrezas with a bit of grip, and they were
cheaper since it's a more common size.

I have access to tire equipment, so I buy my tires from
discounttiredirect.com free shipping, no sales tax, and better pricing
than discounttire.com.

Looking at alternatives for T3.

A 165/80-15 has a 5.2" sidewall, 6.5" section, and an overall diameter
of 25.39"

185/65-15 4.73" sidewall, 7.28" section, and 24.47" diameter. It gives
you 30+ choices from discounttiredirect.com

195/65-15 4.99" sidewall 7.68" section and 24.98" diemeter, and gives
you 50 choices.

I've had good luck with Falken, Khumo and Hankook.

The 185 would probably be fine on the 4.5" rim. I'd rather be on a new
"not correct" size tire than on an old checked/rotten "correct" tire.
If you can't find them, you can't find them.

That was kind of what I was getting at. A more modern tire would be better,
but rim width determines what you can actually use. I agree that the 185
is about the limit on a 4.5 inch wide rim, but IF you step up to a 5.5 inch
wide rim, you open up many choices. The problem with T-3's, is you have to
watch the offsets. But, this is probably why I have "non-stock" rims on
everything but the T-34 (it's on stock rims with new Kumho's). ;-)

By the way Mark, nice to "see" you here. : )
