Keith,
if you can't run a stock cam on 8.4:1 compression, something else is
wrong.  Be looking at your carbs to see if they are not flowing correctly
and also check to see if you are getting correct advance from the dizzy.
At a total of 28 btdc, you should have no problems on a stock cam and 91oct.
