Ill add a couple things Ive discovered recently about my restorations.
When using the Eastwood rust reformer, it MUST be topcoated. Without the
paint over it the rust will come right back thru weather you used it over
rusty metal or sandblasted metal, the coating itself is very porous.

The Eastwood Zinc paint for hot items like exhaust is completely useless,
I mean COMPLETELY useless. Mine rusted right thru just sitting in the
garage without getting wet at all and it was painted just as instructed, 2
coats, right over clean sandblasted metal.

Best bet for exhaust stuff is probably the engine Enamel or Powdercoat if it
doesn't get too hot. Jet hot is decent but even that rusts thru given time.

No magic coatings unfortunately, and with todays VOC laws, there probably
never will be.

Finally, there are a lot of places where they didn't put any color
coat. There really needs to be something there other than just
primer, unless this is a primer that seals and won't rust thru. Most
don't do that. Bob, and your body shop, may know better than me about
this.

When the fenders get back, I'd also like to see them painted inside
and out. The inside doesn't have to be pretty.

After all the work you and your students put into this, it would be a
shame to let those areas rust again right away.
