Well I went to fix a slight leak on the LR wheel bearing of the Crate, the
seal and all was new when I did it a few years ago but for some reason it
weeps a bit. well. GOD himself couldn't get that Drum off! I tried
everything, heating etc. I got A LOT of force on it but its practically
welded on there! How could this happen since the car has never even been
drivin in the rain since I put all this back together?

Its NOT coming off. without cutting or breaking it off, my torch isn't big
enough to cut it off, and really. everything is new in there including the
leaking seal, so I decided to give up. I NEVER give up easily but really,
it's a small weep. no sense in ruining everything on that wheel just because
of a small weep. Ill put a little diaper over the weephole or something. I
left the axle nut loose with a cotter key on it, (like I should BE so lucky)
just in case it wants to come free with driving when I get the engine back
in it.

I guess its like the Notchbacks Clutch welding itself together in 3 weeks
time.

Anywho the good news is that I RTV'd up the holes on the front of the tranny
so that isn't leaking anymore and the Clock is now keeping perfect time!

I tear down the engine tomorrow.

Keith
