[T3] Generator woes...

Hi there
Make certain that the brushes are in full contact with the commutator...easily seen on the topside, easily felt on the bottom. Do this while the engine is idling by pushing the brushes toward the commutator. If the light goes out, then inspect each brush for length and premature wear. If they're worn then either the spring tension, the commutator or a combination of these may be defective. If they're good, then they may be hanging up in their holders. In this case, (and I've done this too many times to count), then you'll need to reform the brushes with light filing and do the same for inner holders. They should slide freely and easily...with no drag or hang ups.
Obviously, this latter procedure must be performed on the bench, not in situ. Good luck.
Best regards,
FE Meek
