Or maybe round it out some, and use a pipe tap to tap and  plug the hole. 
Sometimes you have to think outside the box, and being a  t-3 "Darksider", 
sometimes has it's advantages. ;-)
 
Drilling and tapping should be easy, since cast iron is fairly soft. I'd  
probably try it before I got too far involved with temp fixes. Like you said  
Keith, we've still got at least 3 more months of winter to go, before the 
t-3s  can come out and play. :O  
And yes Brian, I do think it's a low risk/high reward idea. : )
