Soren according to my parts manual for type 3 it says rebuild kit 311 698
191A Is for a 20.64 stroke 36mm From chassis numbers: 211 974
311-314-361-364
and From Ch. No. 365 000 001- 365 220 883
I do have a 1965 1500S with chassis number ... 173 669
Thank you again I am confused.
Kelleigh, the chassis number 211974 is from when the break off point
started, until VW changed the way they did chassis numbering (for the start of
65). That 211 974 number equates to early 64 models, and ran until the end
of 64 model year production, then continued thru the entire 65 model year
production, with "and Ch.No. 365 000 001-365 220 883".
Your chassis number 3x5 173 669, is for a 65 model year car, and falls
into the above parts numbers, and appears to be a later 65 model (April or
May car?).
The other designation 311-314-361-364 are body styles that apply to that
part. Or in other words Notchback (311), Notchback Sunroof (314), Squareback
(361), and Squareback Sunroof (364). Note, it doesn't cover the T-34 Ghia
(343), or the Fastback (not yet produced).
I hope this helps clarify things.

64 T-34 Ghia aka Wolfie
