Marion needs the "Caravan experience"
I know there are some folks in the Richmond area, and Maryland... once you
get up that far.

Dennis,

I plan to go to the Invasion from Atlanta with my car on a trailer. There
are a couple of guys in the Atlanta area with a T3 and a T34, who I have
been lobbying to go, who seem to have a lot of interest. The day at Watkins
Glen has been the aspect of the trip that got their interest. We could go
in a caravan and any car that happens to get disabled could be placed on the
trailer. If past experience is a guide, any problems encountered on the
trip could probably be repaired by the guys at the Invasion (Engines have
been pulled for repair in the motel parking lot at two Invasions). There is
never a shortage of expertise and some parts at these Invasions. You really
need to think seriously about making the trip. I would like some company on
the drive since I and my spouse have been the only people that I can recall,
to make the trip to past Invasions from this area.

Cool video Dennis. Those for few drives are always the best.

Couple of notes....

First, I would leave the front fenders on when you hang the doors. You need
them in place to get the door alignment correct. You do have to be very
careful with the doors to not ding them on the fenders...especially the
first few times you close them until you get the alignment close. I would
personally have the rear fenders bolted on too....since they set up the
alignment for the rear edge of the door.

Second....it would be very cool to see this car at the next Invasion in
Rochester, NY in 2014. Hint hint...

Well first thanks I will consider doing the doors that way but the way our
body class is doing this it took them 2 months to get the hood, fenders, and
deck lid done. They have had the doors for a month and a half so those
should be done in about 2 or 3 weeks and they really haven't started on the
quarters so we just have to take them as they come. Second I will make every
effort to be there but I'm still a little scared to take a 41 by then 42
year old car 916.12 miles according to map quest but I'm thinking about it.
How dose everybody keep cool in these cars in the summer? I weighed 90 lbs
less last time I drove it in the summer LOL (I know I need to lose a few by
looking at the video). I guess we will see how it comes along in the next
year or so.
