[[[Bob wasn't you who said you had some good cushion put in your seats for
the trip? I may have to go back later and take the front seats back apart
and put some better stuffing in them.]]]

Both Gail and I have very nice comfortable bucket seats in our daily
drivers. Gail's VW turbo GLI even has buckets that kinda wrap around your
sides when you are seated. We were both wondering what our comfort level
would be like if we took Elwood with his completely stock original seats on
a long road trip to an Invasion. Well - we have driven Elwood to 3
Invasions, including the last 2; a three day (each way) out to Missouri, and
a four day (each way) to the Rockies, and not once did we have complaints
about sitting in those stock seats! We never complained of back aches or
nothing. Gail made cloth seat covers, and that helps us to not stick to the
vinyl, but that is all we've done to the stock seats. We are both pleasantly
surprised! IIRC, both Keith and Jim (along with Bob and Sue) have original
seats too. Once you get your fasty all back together and riding correctly,
you may find the stock seats not so bad Dennis!

The seat in my 01 Ford Crown Vic hurts my back if I drive it more than an
hour but that's because some of the cushion is worn out from 200K miles and
being 13 years. Plus my dad drove it for the first 3 years of its life and
he is 6'4 and 260lb so he was rough on it(I'm nowhere near that tall). So
I'm kind of sensitive to that. I can drive my son's old 88 Golf or my wife's
2010 Toyota Corolla and I'm fine. I think if I can put some more cushion in
the lower back part I will be fine.
