Is your filler vent hose cracked? That will allow water in and misfiring as
it gets through the fuel lines.

Subject: [T3] Engine "missing"

I took the '69 Square for a short errand yesterday.

After driving 2 or 3 miles in 4th gear at 45 mph ... another 4 miles in 3rd
-- in town at 25 mph ... I was back to 55 mph for several miles. I felt
like one cylinder was not firing intermittently. Sometime "missing",
sometimes OK. We have had some rain recently and the Square is NOT garaged.

Shifted into 3rd, throttled up to 55 mph, came off the throttle and let the
speed come down to 40 mph. Shifted back into 4th and up to 55 mph, again.
 Everything was fine.

A few miles later at 35 to 45 mph, the engine started missing again. After
driving 20 miles, I made a 15 minute "errand" stop. On the return trip, the
engine miss, re-appeared at 4th gear at 45 mph. Back on the 55 mph highway,
engine ran well, again, back through town and a couple of miles at
45 mph.

Are the Menehune's http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Menehune playing tricks on
me?
Damp weather?

I've got another 40 mile (round trip) to the tire shop, Thursday to check
the front end, wheel alignment. We'll see if the engine runs smoothly or if
the missing persists.

I'll make another posting, regarding wheel alignment.
