[T3] Noise from front end/wheel

So I was driving at highway speed this morning and heard a loud
"thud-thud-thud-thud" sound coming from my front driver's side wheel that
just started out of the blue.  I pulled over to see if I had a flat, but I
did not.  I drove a bit further and the sound continued, so I stopped and
had AAA tow me home (front wheels up).

My suspicion is that I lost a front wheel bearing.  Any other thoughts on
what I should check tonight / this weekend?
