That is some good information! Makes me glad on the Mercedes I have a 2.88 differential rather than the 2.47 that came on all the years prior. I sit about 3,000R.P.M. going 80M.P.H. in the desert and about 2,500 around town.

Vater has a 1964 1200c.c. Beetle. He would drive no more than 45M.P.H. to keep the R.P.M. down so he wouldn't have to rebuild the engine for a long time; think over 100,000 miles without anything rebuilt before he parked it. I can tell you it wasn't always fun to go on the freeway! I remember going for 75 mile road trip (El Cajon to rural Vista) as a child and thinking it was a long trip, because it was! l.o.l.

Thank you so very much!
