Samba discussions indicate that the guts of a Bug switch form the same era might be common, so I’ll check that out and take photos of the disassembly/reassembly process.  Probably not for a few weeks, but I’ll document what I find out and share.

I wonder if there is a similar solution for the ’71 ignition electrical switch.  Another fragile and far part.
