[T3] Mechanical Fuel Pump Vapor Lock

Adam, I had exactly this problem both with 32 PDSITs and also with the
Weber DCNFs. I put on a Carter rotary pump and never looked back.

I would not hesitate to do so again, if I were to ever switch back to
carbs. It was an effective and simple solution. I used a Holly pressure
regulator.

In fact, I still have that pump. You are welcome to it. You may get
a kick out of my mounting solution. ;-)

I have read that type 3 cars are
prone to fuel pump vapor lock on hot restart. My car does
this. It will start fine when hot, but once the carbs run
out of fuel it will sputter and choke till the fuel pump
clears itself of the vapor and pumps fuel.

My thoughts were to remove the mechanical pump and go
electric. I was thinking of putting in a low pressure fuel
pump this weekend. Are there any other solutions?
