By now most of the original speaker cones have torn or have disintegrated
completely. Replacement isn't hard, but you need to check yours if it seems
"scratchy" or .... Even though they don't get direct sun, they sit under the
dash and the heat there kills them.  

I have decent replacements for the '71 and later speakers. The earlier ones
are smaller and it may be harder to find something that will fit today.

Right now I'm just using some old speakers out of junk Ford crown vic cop
cars from the late 90s.  It's not a perfect fit but it works and since it's
under the dash you can't tell.  The original speaker was a lost cause many
years ago.  In the back I'm just using some old 6X9 holes I cut behind the
seat back in 84 when I was in high school so that won't be a problem to find
a better speaker for those.
