[T3] Automatic Shifting

into second far to early and never wants to shift into 3rd. I have to  let
of the gas completely to coax it into shifting.

I know that you  can get the fluid pressures adjusted with some fancy tubes
and measuring  devices at a transmission shop.
 
 
No, never had to do that with my wife's car, even when it still had the  
carbs (it's got FI on it now). : )
 
If you look in the AT section of Bentley, you can see where the pressure  
points are, along with the adjustments.
