Crew,

This weekend has been a blast. The old car is running really good, but I
felt like it was missing at low RPM. Just a gentle loss of power....an
intermittent miss..at low RPM.

The first thing I did was replace the coil wire and the #2 spark plug wire.
The #2 has tape on one section leading me to believe it might have been
bleeding spark to cause the miss. I have a full of new plug wires at hand,
but the new set is made for plugs without the tips on them. The set on the
car are for plugs with the tips screwed on, so I have to remove all of the
plugs. Replacing the two wires helped, but it wasn't 100%.

Next, I pulled the distributor cap off. I was told I had electronic
ignition and I wanted to see what kind. I'm glad I did because it made me
realize the distributor cap positioning indention was rounded off on the
cap. You could move the cap when it was supposed to be set in position.
Easy enough, I have 2 extra distributors in the tool box under the hood.
Got that swapped out.

Since I did that, I threw the timing light on. I can tell the advance
works, but I cannot time it. Seems that the cheap ass timing light I have
decided to quit working. It still blinks, but I cannot adjust to see how
much advance I am getting at full advance. Thanks Harbor Freight. :)

So I took it for a drive to see what the butt dyno tells me. I think I am
all good.

Can anyone tell me what ignition I have?

The dizzy is a Chinese 009. That might have to go, but it runs fine for
now. Why mess with it?

What ignition setups are you guys running? I'm asking those with non-stock
setups. My long-term plan is going full EFI on this one. I like to mess
around, so I might have an 100 iterations on the way to getting there. :)
