I doubt if the click was coming from the switch, but, years ago, my 
'68 had a problem with the turn signal relay. The TS relay would 
click once when the brake lights lit up. I believe it was in response 
to a dip in the system voltage caused by the sudden rush of current 
to the brake lights. I got completely used to it, but I had an 
occasional observant passenger who wondered why I was turning.

Wow, that really takes me back. That was 40 years ago. I don't even 
remember if this was something I just lived with or if I eventually 
fixed it.

At any rate, when you get the switch, you'll see that it's not a snap 
action switch, so the click you hear must be coming from something 
else.
