[T3] type3-vwtype3.org Digest, Vol 60, Issue 21

Hello all,

I've fitted 009 distributors to my 1966 type 3 and also to my 1303 76 Karmann. I must say the results were very good. Also these 009's have both electronic ignition as I tour a lot in both cars.

I have heard the newer 009's can be of average manufacture! Guess we have all experience these after market parts at sometime!

I have made sure all the cars wiring is in good condition as faulty old electrics causes many headaches, distributors being blamed! I've had carbs rebuilt on both cars another important running factor on older much used VWs.

My 66 fastback has been converted to 12 volt. This conversion being done before my purchase. No machine marks are on the internal 6 vollt swing axle bell housing. All seems to run well with 12 volt!

Regards,

Ross (Australia)
