[T3] Moaning in and out of gear

I had ear buds in . I listened three times and hear nothing. I had my fan 
welded many years ago and don't have any noise I can hear. Not the blades 
just the center hub.

 It's really difficult at least for me to hear any noise unless I'm near the 
car. If you feel it in the fan housing and the fan was balanced then I doubt 
it's the fan.

 Does it make any difference if the engine is cold or warmed up? If so 
perhaps it's the flaps not open the set amount when fully closed or one is 
more open than the other.

 I read some where on Samba where someone build's the proper rubber 
mounting's for the fans hub . Can't say if it will solve anything if you did 
this.

 I recall when working for Ford we had two tools , one was 6 leads with 
clips to locate noises so you would position them at points and listen 
through head phones and switch through the 6 positions. The other was a 
heavy unit that set up vibrations you could dial in to check if anything was 
suspect yet in both cases they were a long shot at best.
