[T3] My final question about the auto trans fluid level.

I understand what you are saying Jim about the round tube and flat stick
wiping clean ,seems unlikely.

I tried what Bob suggested . If I flip the stick over and remove it the
marked side looks like there is very little fluid on it and the unmarked
side reads what the marked side does. At times if I'm real careful to pull
the stick out so it does not rotate and read the marked side as I normally
do there is about half the amount of fluid on the unmarked side.

One thing , the car is level front to rear yet I did not check it side to
side and since the stick is on the far left side this may be why I see
different readings on both sides . I didn't think of this until right now.
The read part of the stick would sit with it's flats at the L & R side of
the pan.

I only ran the car for 45 minutes and shifted from drive to rev 5 times
then waited and did this again . I left the engine running the entire time .
I even put it in drive with the e brake on and checked the level didn't
change. I will check side to side level on the tube style roof rack .

As it stands now just running it for 45 minutes and shifting through D&R
and not driving it the level is just at the low mark . The stick was just
warm to the touch . I know the fluid expands driving since the trans is
working harder . I have no idea how much the fluid expands as it heats up.

Should I drive it and then check again making sure the car is level in both
directions ? It seems when I drive it 2 miles the fluid is at the high mark
. I also checked the fluid pulling the stick out right off and also waiting
10 seconds didn't make any difference. The sticker states check with fluid
warm what ever warm relates to. Since it's just at the low mark should I add
a bit or drive first?
