[T3] Mystery Miss

I don't recall what year your Type 3 is, but whether it has one of the rarer
ignition switches or one you can get more easily, it makes sense to me to
get a hard start relay into the starter circuit to protect what's left of
your starter switch! You should be in a better place than most of us, with
your new loom, but it won't stop the other components failing, and it won't
cure momentary ignition drop-outs.
William thinks you've already got one. Earth braids all good? Battery
good?

There's a wire from the starter solenoid that tells the brain when the
solenoid is energized. That keeps the fuel pump relay energized.
The facts that your pump runs and the lights dim are all consistent with
power getting to the solenoid correctly.

Your starter problem must have something to do with the starter, the
solenoid, the flywheel, or the starter bushing.
