[T3] type3-vwtype3.org Digest, Vol 74, Issue 12

Hello All,

To get the plugs out of my single port twin port carb motor I use a 1/4 inch drive with a 3/8 adapter and plug socket driven by a ratchet handle. This combination works well for me and clears the manifolds nicely! To start the plug off in the head thread I use a 2 inch piece of fuel line (3/8 I think) to wind the plug into the head thread by hand. This gives me a feel for the thread start. Once in I then use the socket combination to wind home (not too tight) !

Even the standard type 3 plug spanner is a bit too big for me!

I appreciate the recent discussion on plug life, its a question I've had for some time.

Sorting out my small electric primer fuel pump. Should have it fitted to my 66 fast back in the next few days, busy with my 1970 S/C project at the moment.

Regards,

Ross (Australia)
