Hello all,

Many thanks for your advice on my Fastback's "hard starting".

I like Dave's idea of a supplementary electrical pump powered by a separate switch for starting after those long storage periods. Seen quiet a few inexpensive pumps on the net which would do the job. Just got to think of a simple way to set this fuel delivery up. Maybe a couple of tee pieces (fuel in, fuel out) to fill the carbs?

Dave suggestion of a "simple push button switch", wondering is this safe enough? Would a "crash safety switch" suggested by Jim be necessary in this push on/off switch situation?

Any ideas on this concept would be most appreciative. I want to keep my old motor standard in its mechanical pump fuel delivery, however it gets me frustrated when I have to turn it over so much after long periods of storage!

Regards,

Ross (Australia)

Jessica struck the ring really hard just below the crossmember of the steering wheel and I think it didn?t have the fortitude to survive such a strong direct hit in that place. This was definitely one of those cases where the horn was necessary. We were at highway speed when a guy tried to change lanes right into us. I guess he was one of those people who don?t realize that two large objects like cars can?t occupy the same space at the same time.
