Suggestions needed:

   1. My ... almost stock, everything ... 1969 Volkswagen Type 3 Squareback
Front (high-back)Vinyl Seat coverings are in need of some TLC. They were
"restitched" and some of the panels were replaced ... 30 years ago.
   2. Per Jim, we were careful removing the front seats from the plastic
   "slides" and metal rails.
   3. I took the intact seats to the upholsterer who did the work in 1986.
Upon inspection, there were seams where the thread had deteriorated (sun &
   UV exposure) and separated.
   4. The upholsterer was concerned that the vinyl had some hairline cracks
& the "welt/cording", which is stitched into the adjoining vinyl panels,
had faded & could not tolerate more needle holes.

Questions:

   1. Does anyone have experience with a company, or companies, who either
   - supply BULK, basket weave and smooth vinyl? ... or
      - quality, COMPLETE SETS of seat bottom/seat back vinyl in the
correct basket weave and smooth vinyl which fit like the
factory-installed
      material?
      - My seat color, according the my original Bill of Sale, (9/8/1969)
         as Leatherette Nut Brown.
         2. Are The Samba Classifieds a possible, good source of private
parties selling original Seat Cover Kits for sale?
