Over the years, there have been several changes in the design of the
points plate. The snap one is the latest version, but, in general,
they are all completely interchangeable. I don't have much experience
with Pertronix, but there was one here a week ago, with the early
design points plate. I didn't notice any interference with the ground
braid, but it's possible that there was some variation in the exact
spot where the ground braid was welded.

The Pertronix base plate is aluminum, so it's easy to file extra
clearance in it with a round file. I had to do this in a different
spot to insure that it could achieve it's full vacuum advance.

I also had to modify the Pertronix base plate countersunk hole
because the distance between it and the dimple was too long, by about
0.5 mm, so it didn't fit quite right on the points plate. I was
pretty annoyed that Pertronix didn't get this right.
