Soren, I do have to ask why you just didn't use the 68 floor pan halves?
Is it because you found a bunch of pin holes in them?
You are right about using genuine T-3 floor pans though. They do fit better.
I had heard of some of the issues you came across, but wasn't aware of
that many of them.
You project reminds me of when I was doing my 71 Notch (Krunchy). On that car I
had to do floor pan halves, along with replacing the frame head.
Fortunately, the pans and frame head were from the same car, so it made
re-alignment easier. However I did have to add some smaller patches to it,
along with replacing the entire front clip on it, along with splicing the 2 rear
fenders back together, as I didn't get a set with it. I also did a bunch of body
repair (metal replacement) on that car.
My photos are on the Samba, along with the rebuilding story.

I'd have to do a search for the "tear down" pics and story.
Just so you know, most of do these kinds of things as a labor of love, rather
than to make money from.
Bob

If you're not sure how bad your floors are overall, a few hours spent removing sound deadening material and taking a wire wheel to the floors will show you what you're truly dealing with.  Some floors that look good enough from underneath end up being full of pinholes :\

If your floors are rotten up front, I'd look for good original metal.  You'd probably still end up needing to patch the battery tray, but in my mind that's preferable to dealing with the Klassic Fab reproduction pans.

Soren
