[T3] Vacuum lines?

 Do you need to use the cloth covered vacuum hoses or can you use any type
rated for emissions like many type of fuel line are?  My main concern are
the largest lines from the heads to oil bath. Seems like the old braided
line is quite expensive . I wonder many times if there are better type of
hose that would last longer.
