SR17X is the rebuilt exchange number (x = exchange.) Bosch often made 
running changes in their parts that affected the internal parts but 
still worked the same and fit the same cars. SR17X is all you need if 
you just need a starter, but if you're trying to buy an armature, you 
need the full 10 digit Bosch number to make sure of getting the right 
one.
