[T3] Has anyone replaced a 72 /73 Type 3 turn signal switch with the ones Jbugs and CPI1 offer and had any issues with it fitting proper? I either need to replace mine because of the wear in the horn wiper or some how fix it.

I’m certain I need to replace the contact ring on the steering wheel . One reviewer stated on the replacement T/S switch the 4 holes didn’t line up with the OE wiper switch.

I want to do this all at the same time because there is also an issue with the ignition switch /steering lock that in order for the wipers to work sometimes I need to back the key toward off just a tad since most times the ign lock does not engage when the key is removed unless I play around . It seems the lock mech is either dried grease or needs lube which in turn won’t allow the ign switch to return proper. I realize the switch has a return spring I have the new switch and the ign key cylinder works fine. I don’t see any way of lubing any of this without removing the wheel and T/S/Wiper. I have a T/S switch from the 72 yet it is different it has 2 long horn wipers and seems from what I recall you can’t remove from the wiper switch and the 72 wiper switch is falling apart . I read there is a spring under the cast cover that is secured by 2 screws you remove to pull the ign lock mech. Bentley does not show any parts break down . My wiper switch works fine yet I have no idea what the plastic looks like .
