I agree, it was groundbreaking in the market. Bosch gets credit for making it work in an affordable and reliable basis, though Bendix held all the original patents. 

I finally sold my Prius, but Clemmie and the Prius were both ahead of their time and for the same reasons... electronic technology enabling breakthrough economy and clean emissions, compared to anything else at the time, later copied by many.
