Glad to hear that you seem to have fixed your problem. Was the ground wire 
connection loose?

Originally, I believe all our FI cars came with the brown ground wire for the 
main power relay connected under the same screw that mounted the relay to 
the back seat kick panel. But, it doesn't really matter. As long as there's 
something holding the relay and something securely grounding the brown 
wire, the power circuit should be reliable.

Originally, the ground wire would be right under the screw head, then the 
relay mounting tab, then the kick panel. There may have been a star washer 
somewhere in that stack, but I don't remember that.

On '69 and later, there was a second relay, for the rear window defroster, 
mounted beside the main power relay. It's wiring is completely independent 
of the wiring for the main power relay.
