There's special oil sold as Shock Oil, used by owners of early British cars. 
Those cars had shocks that needed, and provided for, topping up the oil. I 
have no idea what it is or what makes it special, but you can probably find it 
at a place that specializes in British sports cars.

Are you hoping to rejuvenate some old shocks? Bilsteins were rebuildable, 
but not ours.
