[T3] Type 3's at Cincinnati VW show, Sept. 25?

Same results on my drive, only the 2056 runs about 10 degree's hotter on the highway, 200-205 oil temps, and yea when the rain hits oil temps
Drop drastically but if things get too cool I can see the thermostat open up  and temps get back to their set point again or close.

I installed a replacement thermostat shortly before this road trip. When I drove Elwood around town on the cool days we had before taking this trip – the oil temps really never got above 180. When we hit the road for this trip – it was basically running at 190 – 195 on the flat highway to Ohio. On the return trip home – Keith and I drove a lot of the trip through the rain. AS SOON as the rain hit- my oil temp. immediately went down to 180 and stayed there all the way home in the rain. So it looks like this thermostat is doing it’s thing to keep the oil temps above 180. 😊
