There were a total of 8 Type 3s at the Cincinnati VW Porsche Reunion today
in Cincinnati and they took home 3 of the Top 30 awards including one for
Jill 's Type 34 Ghia and one for Dave and Gail's Squareback, Elwood. The
third went to Harris Mason's absolutely gorgeous 64 Notchback.

It really completed our Type 3 summer being able to hang out for the weekend
with some of the regular Type 3 Invaders that couldn't make the trip to
California for the Invasion back in June.

Thanks to Jim Adney and Melissa Kepner, Keith Park, Dave and Gail Pallo, and
Marion and Peg McDonald for making it such a great weekend for Jill and I.
Safe travels home everyone tomorrow. Our drive home tonight was great.

Jill and I got a little later start then we planned, but are making good

Jill and I took her Ghia out for a cruise to get frozen custard this
evening.  First time it has seen the road in at least 3 years.  The A/C is
all installed and all systems go so far.  I have an appointment at 8:30 in
the morning to get the system charged with R134A.  We should be on the road
before noon.  It is a little under 4 hours for us to get to the hotel.

Melissa, our orange '71 FI/AT Square, and I, made it to Danville, IL at
about 8:30. That puts us just west of the Indiana border. Our GPS says that
the drive to our motel near Cincy will take us 3:18, so we should get there
for lunch easily.

No problems so far. Really nice driving weather, both for us and for our
cars.
