Yes, that's a T3 auto starter. The number is in the brown Bentley manual. 
The SR17 number is only a rebuild number, so it would only appear on a 
silver sticker applied by a rebuilder.

Later starters have alum field windings. Those are difficult to solder new 
brushes to. Bosch made special brushes for them. Send me the BOSCH 
number and I can send you the Bosch part number for the brushes. You 
might be able to find brushes at Rockauto.com, or I might still have a pair.
